USB not detected at all

Hi Wee Keat Chin,
We’re going to handle your case via email. PixyMon 0.1.49 has fixed the same issue for several Mac users. Your problem sounded exactly the same, so we skipped some information-gathering steps.

You’re right— you should be able to see Pixy in the System Profiler:

(Note, this is what you see when Pixymon is running. When PixyMon isn’t running, it looks the same except the “current required” isn’t configured.)

Just following up on this, in my case, I’ve finally got it working!

Believe or not, it’s actually my USB cable. Bought a brand new one to eliminate that as a possibility and as soon as I plugged it in with the new cable, Pixy showed up in my USB devices.

Thanks!

Please take a if your old cable was a 4pin instead of a 5pin variant. I guess that it is the solution for most cable related problems in this forum. (But not for my problem, unfortunately!)

Have purchased a different USB. The servos spazzed out and tried to push past normal point so I unplugged it straight away. I then tried with the old USB to use on a mac and could get it to work, yay! But I can’t get it to work on my PC :frowning: sad. Do you have any tips? Ps I didn’t receive an email so I’ll just continue on here if you don’t mind.

Shayn-- check your email! I’ve sent 2 messages! (spam?)

Regarding your PC, do you have a Renesas host controller? Bring up the Device Manager and take a look:

If you do, you may need to update the driver (you need version version 2.1.16.0 or later or Pixy won’t work!) You can download a recent version here:

This has fixed several PCs with communications problems so far. (Took a while to track down!)
