Another Color Code Question

I’ve tried using color codes, and I think they work differently than I thought they would.

I had previously programmed my Propeller ActivityBot to track and move to a color signature using the ADC interface (Pixy mode 3). And it worked, but I wanted to improve its selectivity. I downloaded and installed the beta Pixymon and firmware. I taught Pixy 2 color codes (red & blue), set colorcode mode 2 (only report color codes), set up a redblue object, and looked at the Pixy video display. I saw the object highlighted, but also found out that there are a lot of other reddish-bluish objects in my house. So I thought that if I taught it a third color code (yellow), it would be more unique. I was wrong. Now along with the reddish-bluish objects it shows objects that are red-yellow, blue-yellow, and red-blue-yellow, and other combinations of the 3 colors. I assume that is what was intended when color code detection was developed.

Is it possible, and if so will there ever be developed a color code mode where a unique color code combination (e.g. red-blue-yellow) could be taught and only that combination (but not red-blue or red-yellow-blue) be detected/reported?

Thanks
Tom

Hi Tom,

I believe you are looking for color code mode 1. From the wiki:

@
1=enabled This is the default mode. Detected color code objects are reported along with normal objects. However, objects that match color code signatures, but are not part of a color code (two or more color code signatures) are not reported.

The last sentence is the important part. I believe this will filter out the unwanted objects you are referring to.
