Autopilot Software (STM32)

Hi all,

I’m building a small aircraft based off “the rq-7”:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AAI_RQ-7_Shadow to learn more about drones and autopilot software. I’m using a diy Naze32 (STM32) board and modified Cleanflight firmware as the primary flight controller and currently working on the autopilot features. I’d like to add a pixy into the 360ptz dome so that I can identify a runway/landing strip using colour codes on the ground and have the plane safely and accurately land there - possibly more features afterwards like obstacle avoidance but I’m sure pixy would need some range finder assistance with that. I’ve currently got the aircraft capable of landing in a crash bay/foam pit but it’s not as cool as landing traditionally and the software is buggy as hell.

Has anyone attempted something like this? I would love to hear other experiences!
