banding

I try to work with pixy in an installation and have Samsung LED Tube (http://www.samsung.com/uk/business/business-products/led-lamps/led-tubes/GU15H5024T8IEU)
But I get this images as a result in pixymon.
Any Idea how to solve this?
Change framerate of pixy?
I also found banding filter in the camera.cpp on github but don’t know how to change it, what would be the right setting. Is the banding filter set on by default?

Thank you!

PS. Its really urgent because it opens on wednesday.

Hello Robert,
That is fairly harsh banding. If the lighting source is flashing, banding will sometimes show up. It looks like your light source is flashing with fairly high amplitude. Incandescent and fluorescent lighting have “ripple”, but the amplitude of the ripple is usually not very high and Pixy’s image sensor can accommodate by adjusting the integration timing.

Have you tried another lighting source?

Yes, we also have neon tubes in the room. With them it is fine. But there are not so many and its more dark, so color detection becomes more difficult. The problem is, we don’t have the time to change the whole lighting. But it works now somehow. So we have to deal either with darkness or with banding.

Best
Robert

Hello Robert,
Try a different light. Do you have an incandescent light?
