Barrel distortion in camera

Hi I am trying to correct for barrel distortion.

I have found an equation which should give me actual position relative to “seen” position by the camera. This equation requires a distortion parameter which supposedly is specified to the lens.

Can you tell me what this parameter is? Also, if you have a method for correcting barrel distortion can you point me in the right direction?

Any help is appreciated.

Hi Justin,

Sorry, but we don’t have a distortion parameter for the lens. It sounds like it might be something you can measure, though. Sorry we can’t help more. Good luck!

Hi,

I have met that kind of problem.

maybe you could get the intrinsic parameters of the lens by applying camera calibration.

Then what you have to deal with is a Back-projection problem.

In your Back-projection problem formula’s what are the r^2, r^4, and r^6 parameters?
