Camera Removal and Replacement - (Not Lens)

I would like to either remove the camera - not the lens but the entire camera and solder a small plug on it so I can put the camera where ever I want without having to worry about the board or I would like to purchase a Pixy without a camera installed and have the camera sold separately.

Also, is it possible to use a camera of my choice? There are some nice little higher resolution and HD cameras that could do a better job than the camera that it comes with and I would like to have the option to do this.

Are these options available?

As for using a camera of your choice, you’d likely have to rewrite a lot of the M0 core code that handles image acquisition, depending on your camera’s implementation, features, etc. This isn’t something we can support due to the amount of work involved, but since all code and hardware files are open in Pixy you can work on it yourself. We’d be happy to give you guidance from the forums if you need help.
