Hi! I am working on a project that specializes in color and Object Detection from an aerial image. Is the camera suited for considerable height? If not, can the lens be replaced with one to increase image quality?

The latest version of Pixy allows you to use a different lens, such as a lens with a narrower field of view (more zoom). However, we don’t sell different lenses and finding a suitable lens can sometimes be challenging.

If you are using Pixy 2.1 with the interchangeable mount, happy to help choose high performance M12 lenses. You can plug in the Pixy 2.1 camera resolution into the web calculator and figure out the FoV of the lens options. If you don’t know the target FoV, our web-based angle of view calculator can help.
A telephoto lens (~10°-20° HFoV) is pretty popular for aerial robotics/drone applications.
