Colour detection through optical fibre

Hi,

Slightly unusual use case here. I was wondering if I could attach optical fibres to the pixy. One fibre in front of the camera and one in front of an LED. Then place the other ends of the fibres such that the LED illuminates an object and the camera fibre return the reflected light to the camera. The ultimate aim is to detect the presence of different coloured object at the bottom of a very small hole, only big enough for the fibres to fit i.e. 2mm. Obviously the ‘image’ will not be in focus, only colour imformation sent to camera.

Could this work?
Thanks

Hello,
I suppose this could work. If Pixy can see the end of the fiber, it could detect certain colors that appear there. I would guess that getting the end of the fiber to be large enough in the image would be one lf the bigger challenges.
