Detecting space between two objects

Hi,

I understand how to “teach” objects to Pixy, but now I’d like to make it detect spots between objects.
A concrete example: my son is in front of the hockey net (which has a red frame). I’d like Pixy to detect and point at spots between my son and the frame of the net. I’ve already put solid green colour behind my son, so Pixy would be “looking” for the green, “avoiding” my son. Unfortunately, this is not working as I was expecting, and I don’t really understand why.
Any idea/suggestion?

Regards,

Carlo

Hello Carlo,
Pixy uses a “connected components algorithm” to detect color regions. It may be that the green background is being “connected” into one larger object instead of two objects, one on each side of your son. Maybe if the green background is shorter than your son? Can you send some screen grabs?
