Distance of an symmetric object

Based on the post http://cmucam.org/boards/8/topics/2915 tried to calculate the distance as d = (640 * actual_width)/(2 * tan(37.5) * pixel_width). But I see that ‘d’ is almost double of the actual distance. What am I doing wrong.

(I’m using arduino and pixy together)

Hi Anil,

You may want to check your algebra, I believe there may be an error in your final equation.
