Im facing darkness with my cam help plz

i got my cam (pixy R1.3A) from a friend of mine he is not using it right now so he give it to try it … he left to another city right now

when i switch my cam on and open pixymon and hit the raw video button i dont see any thing but darkness unless i point the cam to an led light or a window i see some light
but almost most of the scene is dark
i tried to play around with the settings brightness etc … nothing

i tried to upgrade the firmware to 2.0.9… didnt fix anything downgraded again … nothing now im back to latest firmware

i realy need help as i cant use it or try it at all like this :frowning:

just to make sure - have you taken the lens cap off?

Hello Volcan,
I agree with Jesse. It looks like there is something optical going on. Just to clarify, you point Pixy at a light source and you see a line of brightness on the PixyMon window?

Jesse … yes i took the lens cap off ,(Edward) i see the lights i have also posted a screenshot of my LED strip up

Hi Volcan, is it possible your friend was using the camera with IR-LOCK lens kit and firmware?

This would be to track infrared only, and block visible light. You might try unscrewing the lens all the way, and looking inside to see if there’s a filter like the one in the attached picture. If so, you may need to get a different lens (like the one that came with Pixy originally), and remove this filter assembly in order to use Pixy normally.
