increase resolution

Greetings,
It is stated that: pixy.blocks[i].x The x location of the center of the detected object (0 to 319)

How can one increase the resolution from 0 to 319, to 0 to 439 or more? I’m aware this will decrease the fps, but I’m interested in detecting a 6mm BB pellet.
Thank you for your time.

Alexander

Hello Alexander,
Unfortunately, increasing the resolution isn’t straightforward. You might try reducing the “Min block area”:

Hope this helps!

Edward

Dear Edward,

If I wish to detect a moving object every 1 millisecond with a diameter of 6 mm (at 1.5 meters away), what would the ideal pixy be? I’m trying to understand what hardware would be require to detect such an object.
Any news of a faster pixy with higher resolution?
Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

Alexander

Hello Alexander,
Those are some challenging requirements! 1 millisecond update rate requires a very specialized/expensive system. I don’t think Pixy (now or future) will be able to meet those requirements. (sorry)
