measuring a hand

I just got my cmucam5 from the mail and excited to explore all the possibilities i can do with it. I was wondering how can pixy cam recognize a hand and get the pixel measurement. Since it recognize colors, the background will be a static but if im gonna be dealing with hand with different skin tone, do always have to calibrate it for each hand?

Sorry for my english.

Thank you

Hi Alvin,

You might try training a few different models on a range of skin tones to try and get full skin tone coverage. It would be helpful to increase the hue spread so it is more inclusive of skin colors, and since you’ll have a static-color background this shouldn’t cause too many problems, as long as your background isn’t a similar color

If you try this method, you might be getting blocks back from Pixy for multiple models, in which case you’ll have to take the aggregate of all models/blocks sent back to get the overall hand measurement.

Does this make sense? Let me know if you have any questions.
