Which is a better microcontroller to program with java and receive wireless information faster via Android?

Are you looking to interface Pixy with Android, or is this just a general microcontroller-to-Android question?

We are planning on interfacing Pixy with Android. Like having send live feed to a tablet or smartphone. Not sure if that is possible, if not we also have in mind to use a dot-matrix.
I’m not aware of any good micros you can write Java for, although I’ve heard they exist. Last time I looked in to this, the JVMs built for the micro didn’t perform well. Who knows, this may not be the case anymore, although a quick Google search didn’t yield any good results.
As for streaming video from Pixy, this isn’t yet possible. We’re working on an improved library to be able to get more info from Pixy, but we can’t make any promises related to streaming video.
