Hello,

I would like to know if it is possible to:

  1. count production line moving items?
  2. detect visible item damages?

Any hints, tips, literature, …

Hi U,

Pixy can learn and track up to 7 distinct color signatures, with hundreds of items per signature.

So, the answer is…it depends! Are your production line items uniformly (and brightly) colored? Pixy does best with objects that have a bright hue - aka the opposite of gray / black / white. Do they contrast well from the background?

As far as detecting damage, Pixy is probably not your best choice for this. It uses a connected components algorithm to grow regions of similar color. There is no pattern or shape recognition.

Yes, production line is uniformly and brightly colored and also contrast well from the background.
