Pixy and Linux: Procedure Unsupported

Hi all,

I recently purchased a Pixy and wired it up to my pan&tilt unit. I took the IR version.
Pixymon has been installed on a Windows 10 machine and a Linux based Odroid C2.

So far, so good. On W10 it works all well, the pan&tilt demo works with an IR LED in front of the Pixy.

Now, the other side of the medal, Linux. This will be the system I’ll be using on my project, which will be turret which will be controlled by the Pixy.

The Pixy is being detected by the Odroid, but after that, nothing happens. All what Pixymon is saying is ‘Procedure Unsupported’. Whatever the command will be, everything is unsupported.

It has been tried with multiple USB cables, reflashed the firmware. Is there a step which I’ve missed, although I followed the Wiki page of installing Pixymon on Linux…

Somebody with a golden tip?

Regards,

Jacco

Hello Jacco,
Are you using the sensor sold by IR-lock?

It sounds like the firmware version is incompatible with the PixyMon that you are running. The IR-lock folks have a custom version of firmware for Pixy. You are going to have to ask IR-lock for help with this issue.

Edward

Hi Edward,

Yes, I bought it there.
First I bought the ‘normal’ Pixy and I added the IR filter kit afterwards.

I get your point, but I’ve updated the Pixy with the latest firmware from here, plus on Windows, it’s working fine. I’ll contact them!
