Pixy as Dynamic Video Sensor?

http://siliconretina.ini.uzh.ch/wiki/index.php

I just learned about Dynamic Video Sensors and they look impressive! I wonder if the pixy can be used as a DVS. There is a high-end, pricey model one can buy but also an embedded version that kinda has the specs of the pixy (https://wiki.lsr.ei.tum.de/nst/programming/edvsgettingstarted.)

Still not impressed? Check out the potential when attached to a quadcopter: http://youtu.be/LauQ6LWTkxM

Hi Jonathan,

That’s a cool concept. I wasn’t able to tell if they use a special sensor in the camera or not. Regardless of whether they use a special sensor or not, you could do this on Pixy, but it just might not be as fast as the one in the video.

Hi,

There is a special sensor in this cameras and there are rather expensive (2500 CHF). OK, one can emulate the functionality with some limitations in the dynamic range, but of course you’ll never get the 12µs latency.

Best regards, Tom
