So I just started playing around with Pixy a few days ago, and I need it to be able to find edges on an object. I don’t really have a use for the color codes, but would like to be able to find edges. Is there a way I can get Pixy to display information regarding an object’s edges (Distance, width, length, etc)? I found out that you can “activate” edge detection mode by holding down the button, but that is just to teach Pixy certain objects. So I am looking for a way to use this edge detection feature if possible. Thanks in advance.
Hi Raj,
unfortunately, Pixy does not support edge detection. The firmware is designed to use a connected components algorithm to track blocks of color. What you’re seeing when you hold the button down is the algorithm attempting to find contiguous regions of color. It’s not detecting edges.
