re-install windows driver

Salut,
I have the PixyCam5 nicely working on my PC. Now I tried to run it on my laptop. Unfortunately, avast anti-virus interrupted the driver installtion and I never got to the driver install dialog. Now the driver is known to the system but the files are missing. Re-installaing the pixycam software does not help, even with avast de-installed. Do you have a driver installation file only?

Ciao, Mathias
[Update/Resolved]
Here is the sequence to resolve this situation:

  • replace avast (who needs a protection that does more damage than protect?)
  • add system variable devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1
  • in device manager delete all pixCam driver and delete the files
  • reboot
  • clean registry (ccleaner)
  • plug in PixyCam - the driver gets installed, the dialog as in the wiki appears
  • run pixymon and have fun

Hi Mathias,
Good sleuthing! You probably found the driver in the PixyMon installation directory— you can manually install by pointing to the inf file if things go awry.

thanks!

Salut Rich,

I showed the CMUcam5 Pixy today on a maker meeting in Basel. They were overwhelmed! The project is to get a indoor navigation based on color pylons working. The idea is to have on a rectangle of 100x200m pylons with strong colors in the corners and to locate them using the CMUcam5 Pixy. Math will then do the rest to locate the position of the robot.
I’ll keep you posted

Ciao, Mathias

Nice! Thanks for sharing Mathias!
