Teach Pixy an object without pressing the button

Hi Devs,
Is it possible to teach Pixy an object without pressing the button?

Apparently we used Pixy for object detection in our thesis, and one of the panelists requested to make the mobile application be able to teach Pixy by just taking a picture. It goes like this: user takes a picture in phone, and Pixy will automatically learn to detect whatever it is on the picture.

By chance, is this feasible? If not, please explain in detail so we can explain it to him as well. Thank you.

Hello Aliah,
Pixy relies on user-feedback during the teach process to get a good “lock” on the object that you are trying to teach Pixy to recognize. For this reason it’s not possible currently to teach Pixy an object using a picture or without pressing the button. (sorry)
