tracking a waterskier

Hi,

I am wondering if this might be what i am looking for. We build a camera system that is used on a boat for a Water Ski competiton to track the skier through the slalom course using a potentiometer atached the the rope, conencted to an arduino to drive a servo to move a camera. This works well, however, i need to do the same for the figures event, but can not attach anything to the rope.

I was wondering if the PIXY would be able to track a skier behind the boat? It would be possible to have the skiers all wear a coloured bib, would that be enough for PIXY to track the skier? The skier woud be about 10-15, away from the boat.

Thanks

Ian…

Hello Ian,
If the skier wears a unique colored lifejacket (for example) perhaps Pixy can detect and track. One issue is the size of the skier in Pixy’s image. If it’s too small, Pixy will have trouble detecting. It sounds like something you might have to experiment with.

Hope this helps!

Edward
