Unable to build Pixy2 firmware with current Keil versions

Hi,

I’m trying to build a modified version of the official Pixy2 firmware on Windows.

What I have tested:

  • Official Pixy2 repository

  • Keil MDK 5.43

  • LPC4330 device pack installed

  • ARMCLANG 6.24 available

The project opens correctly, but all targets require:

Compiler Version 5

I installed ARM Compiler 5.06u7 separately, but when executing armcc.exe I get:

C9555E: Failed to check out a license

Keil reports:

Missing: Compiler Version 5

Trying to migrate the project to ARMCLANG 6 generates hundreds of compilation errors.

Could someone confirm:

  1. What MDK version is currently used to build Pixy2 firmware?

  2. Is there a known working setup with ARM Compiler 5?

  3. Has anyone successfully migrated the firmware to ARM Compiler 6?

Thanks.

Hello,
Sorry for the slow response. We use Keil V5.22, although I would guess that version 5.43 would work. It sounds like your Keil install is missing the C compiler or doesn’t have a valid license. Unfortunately, Keil requires a license. If you’re an educational institution, you can get a free license. Hope this helps.
