When is the next upgrade of the arduino api

Hi,

in many posts you are mentioning that you are working on a new arduino api. Is there a date when this will happen and also do you have a feature list that will be included. I am asking because I am thinking about a color sorting project and for that I need features such as shape of a block and also different signatures to store and load.

Hi Bernd,

We don’t yet have a date for when it will be done. We’re still taking suggestions to determine the most requested/needed features, so feel free to make a suggestion. I’ll note that you’re wanting shape data and loading of signatures.

thanks for the timely answer and yes that is what I would like to have (shape (or angle of main axis) and loading/saving of signatures). From your repsonse I gather that it will be some time until that will happen. Please understand me question, it is not that I want to put pressure on you guys (you created a great cam that works fine), I just wanted some idea if it is worth spending my time with OpenCV processing and/or open Framework or if this is not necessary as it will be implemented soon in the pixy arduino library anyway
So even a list of features that may be implemented (and likely priorities) would be nice, but I understand that some people may take this for granted and it could cause misunderstandings.

Thanks for understanding. Things are pretty busy over here :slight_smile:

Here are some of the most requested features:

  • Add programmatic way to change Pixy configuration/parameters
  • Library to communicate with Pixy on PC-side (outside of Pixymon)
  • Provide a programmatic way to train a new signature
  • More block data (i.e. shape)

These are ordered in my priority (but not necessarily the team’s priority), and this doesn’t mean these are the new features coming. This is just what has been frequently requested.
